    2. Bayside City Council is proud to present the Bayside Healthy Ageing Seniors Festival which offers a diverse calendar of events throughout the month of October. It is an opportunity to safely connect with the community, meet new people, try something different and celebrate together.
    3. This year’s theme “Takin’ It Easy” encourages seniors aged 55+ to get involved in the festival however they feel most comfortable. Council has worked with local community groups, centres and clubs to put together a calendar of 80+ FREE and low-cost activities and events. There is something for everyone, including live music performances, arts, history, tours, dance, information sessions, sport, recreation, wellbeing, plus so much more!
    4. If you have been wanting to find out what’s on offer within your community or to explore something new in a COVIDSafe environment, now is the time! Read on to view the full program.

      2. The health and safety of our community remains a priority. Event organisers have measures in place to maximise COVIDSafe events.
      3. Individuals have a role to play in staying safe by wearing a face mask indoors if unable to maintain

      2. A healthy, active, and inclusive community is a priority for Council. That is why we provide information and create awareness on a variety of issues and topics that pertain to seniors. We support and work closely with local seniors’ groups, clubs, and community centres in Bayside.

          4. Bayside Gallery is opening their doors for their Past Lives exhibition which highlights significant events and characters that have shaped Bayside’s past and Bayside U3A will be holding an Open Day and Art & Craft show in the Brighton Courthouse.

        6. The Victorian Seniors Festival and the Cities of Bayside, Port Phillip, Stonnington and Glen Eira invite you to Bring it Home, a great show celebrating seniors and senior artists. Featuring high quality live music, special guests including the likes of Wilbur Wilde, Rebecca Barnard and Alison Ferrier, stories, belly laughs, sing-along, dancing, radio plays, interviews and more. Audience members can be as visible and involved as they choose, or sit back, relax and enjoy the party atmosphere.

          1. is a valued and integral part of the Bayside community. Across the municipality, Bayside hosts a range of clubs, community groups and organisations that rely on the knowledge and expertise of volunteers.

Council hosts over 30 volunteer programs ranging from environmental conservation, library services, gallery, aged services, youth services, sustainability, and social and community connection. You can volunteer as little or as much as you like – many of our volunteer programs provide flexibility and can work around you!

          2. Council is seeking expressions of interest from Bayside residents aged 55+ to join the Bayside Healthy Ageing Reference Group (BHARG). BHARG members provide Council with feedback in relation to policies, plans and services affecting older residents. Membership is for two years with a maximum term of four years. A minimum of four BHARG meetings are held annually with the first meeting in February 2023.
